The petals of the roses were painted with a brush loaded with three colors. The base of the brush had clear water, the middle had light red color and the tip had dark red color.

The leaves of the rose are alternate and pinnatley compounded. Pinnate is a term used to describe feather-like leaf structures.

Sunflower
This painting has a significant error. The sunflowers face is various directions. Cultivated sunflowers exhibit heliotropism: the flower follows the sun across the sky and then return to face east at night. Therefore, all of the flowers should face in the same direction.
